Do you need a European Union flag registration that is valid around the world and is available to all nationalities?
We can provide either a Private Yacht Registration and/or a Commercial Yacht Registration.

In January 2007 Slovenia became the first member to have both joined the European Union and adopted the Euro since the currency’s creation in 1999 and it has been a member of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation & Development since 2010.

Pleasure Registration under Slovenian flag
To arrange registration we will require:
- Power of attorney for representation and domicile
- Proof of ownership (either via Bill of Sale, Sale Agreement, commercial sale invoice ( if Used boat with Seller’s Signature Authorisation!)
- CE Declaration or any other document that confirms ship’s length, beam and other specifications with what you fill the forms,
- Contracts for engine and vessel in an original form, not in a copy. If it happens to be a copy it needs to be verified by a public notary,
- SLO VAT Nr, which we gt for you / for yearly Yacht tax)
- Survey by one of the nominated offices ( BUREAU VERITAS, GERMANISCHER LLOYD, RINA)
- Insurance policy for your yacht
- Evidence from the owner (either individual or body corporate). Any EU nationality (*) should be applying
* For non-EU owners, we could organise an EU body corporate to own the boat, which body corporate should be owned by the non-EU owners.
The registration for a PRIVATE YACHT is valid for then (10) years and renewal for five (5) years, whereas the registration for a COMMERCIAL YACHT is valid for two (2) years.
PRICE of REGISTRATION: 290 € only!
The tax liability is determined for the period of the calendar year:
05.00 – 08.00 m (length) 10€ fix + 2,5€ x m (length) + 0,5€ x kW (power)
08.00 – 11.99 m (length) 15€ fix + 3,0€ x m (length) + 1,0€ x kW (power)
12.00 m + (length) 20€ fix + 3,5€ x m (length) + 2,0€ x kW (power)
Payment for yearly Yacht tax is connected to your SLO tax nr!
For example for a 33 feet s/y with a 20 HP engine will be = 50 eur / year !
Ownership
Anyone can own a yacht under the Slovenian flag but only EU nationals may hold the yacht under their personal name, while others would need to hold the yacht through an EU company. It is not required that the owner of the yacht resides in Slovenia or even in the EU. The place of residence of the owner is not relevant at all.
If you are not a European Union citizen, we will set up a European Company for you and you will transfer the ownership of your vessel into this dormant company. As this company is only used for owning a boat you will not need to pay any taxes or do any government filings. A bill of sale will have to be executed, signed and notarised to transfer ownership of your yacht to your new European company. We will make this bill of sale for you or you can make your own.
